Transforming a job site into a relational career hub

Executive Summary

Bright Plus, a specialized Belgian recruitment agency, aimed to optimize both candidate and client inflow. Their existing job site was functional but transactional, with limited brand awareness and a complex, manual application process. Through a two-phase Service Design and UX/UI project, the functional site was transformed into a relational career hub. The new platform offers a seamless digital experience that improves usability, reduces application drop-offs, and reinforces the personal, human approach central to the Bright Plus brand.

 

Results

The redesigned platform transformed the candidate experience from a transactional job site to a relational career hub, delivering:

  • 10% decrease in application drop-offs within the first month.
  • Intuitive search functionality and consistent brand messaging throughout the platform.
  • Positive engagement trends, including increased average time on site, engagement rate, applications, and lead form submissions.
  • A System Usability Score of 97/100 in user testing, confirming the platform’s ease of use and enjoyment for candidates.

The big idea 

Shift the focus from a functional, transactional platform to a relational digital experience guiding candidates through their entire career journey, not just the application process.

The strategy 

Phase 1 - Candidate Journey & Strategic Insights (2022)

  • Mapped the complete candidate journey via qualitative research, interviews, and on-site observations.
  • Developed personas and conduct market benchmarking to identify opportunities across brand, market, and user experience.

Phase 2 - UX/UI Design & Iterative Validation (2024)

  • Transformed strategic insights from phase 1 into a fully optimized UX/UI platform.
  • Implemented two-week agile design cycles to design and validate key features such as search, registration, and user dashboards.
  • Achieved a significant improvement in user experience and key KPIs

The process
