Creating the Netflix Experience in Insurance: NN's Personalized Newsletters

Executive Summary

NN Insurance aimed to create automated, personalized newsletters based on reading behavior and survey data, similar to how Netflix recommends content based on viewing history. To achieve this, Springbok developed a “Netflix-style catalog” within NN's existing ecosystem, using Drupal and Salesforce Marketing Cloud for data collection and integrating key systems.

This solution enabled NN Insurance to deliver automated, targeted content based on individual preferences, enhancing customer engagement and streamlining content delivery.
 

Our Approach

The Big Idea

NN Insurance aimed to create automated newsletters tailored to individual preferences, similar to how Netflix recommends content based on viewing behavior. The goal was to leverage their existing content library and systems to deliver personalized, data-driven newsletters.
 

The Strategy

To enable personalization, we set up a first-party pixel to collect data on reading behavior and surveys from all channels. This data was then synchronized with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, creating enriched customer profiles for hyper-personalized content delivery.
 

The Process

  • Integrated and synchronized data from back-office systems, Drupal CMS, Salesforce Sales Cloud, and GCP.
  • Used Salesforce Marketing Cloud to automate the creation and distribution of personalized newsletters based on the enriched data profiles.
